Edicola - Comunità in rete

Temporary – Urban design

The concept of the "educating community" has become increasingly central in the field of education, with the awareness that learning cannot be limited to what happens within the walls of the school building. For this reason, it is of fundamental importance to create spaces that allow for the active involvement of the entire community, both within and beyond the school, fostering the relationship between school and the local area, and the dissemination and exchange of knowledge.

Overcoming the aforementioned boundaries can certainly be facilitated through the implementation of temporary pavilions scattered throughout the territory. Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio Children - Reggio Emilia Approach) defined the school space as the third teacher, along with the teaching staff and families. The creation of scattered spaces across the territory decentralizes and exponentially amplifies the presence of third teachers, constituting valid centers of continuous culture that lend themselves to the appropriation and organization of educational activities, cultural events, and moments of aggregation, involving not only students and teachers but also parents and citizens of the neighborhood.

EDICOLA is the grating made of fiberglass, known by the acronym FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics).
